Thinking about woodland creation on your land? The England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO) deadline for the 2024 – 2025 planting season is in just ten days, 30th June 2024. You could receive financial support to create new woodland, including through natural colonisation, on areas as small as one hectare.

Grants are available for up to £10,200 per hectare, plus up to an additional £12,700 in stackable payments when delivering wider benefits to society, nature recovery and the environment, to support your woodland creation scheme.

Great three days at the @theroyalcornwall catching up with friends and clients old and new. Thanks to everyone who stopped to chat and get one of our exclusive cow car stickers! Your support is truly appreciated. I’m sunburnt and lost my voice so getting some much needed rest today!

Evening walk around the golf course.

Some good news for tenant farmers today as the government announce a new role to be created for a Commissioner for the Tenant Farming Sector, a neutral and confidential body providing advice to landlords, tenants and advisors who have concerns about poor behaviour in the sector.

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for joining, sharing, and liking my page! 😊 Thought I`d kick things off with a quick intro so you can get a sense of who I am and what I do.

I`m a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer, deeply immersed in the property world since 2001. Previously, I co-owned an estate agency and property consultancy in rural mid-Devon, where we handled everything from property lettings to sales across the county. Following that venture, I transitioned to a larger, multi-disciplinary agency, specialising in valuations across various property types and engaging in a wide range of professional services.

Over the years, I`ve earned qualifications in Residential Sales, Lettings & Management, Block Management, and even a Diploma in Law. Currently, I`m pursuing an MSc in Rural Estate Management at The Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester, delving into a research project exploring the evolving landscape of agricultural valuations amidst new agri-environmental schemes and how to put a value on nature. Outside of work I enjoy surfing, running and tending to the allotment.

I am happy to give any advice you need on property related matters, from landlord and tenant, to tax or compensation.

I look forward to hearing from you!

April field notes.

WINSWOOD BALES : I had a few reports yesterday and overnight that some of the bales on the fields at Winswood are insecure. I’ve been to check this morning and a few have rolled ti a resting position on the edge of the fields. Please keep away from them and do not allow children to climb on them. The public footpath runs from the wooden gate with a footpath sign along the hedge boundary, cutting across the field at about halfway before following up to the top corner of Spruce Park, again along the field boundary. All other routes are permissive and if the bales are tampered with or become a danger we may need to restrict access in those areas until our tenant can make safe. Thank you for your cooperation.

Steam train and OSR this morning on an inspection.

Miserable day for a site visit near Penzance. The client is looking for open market valuations for his affordable led rural exception scheme on a pretty village edge setting.

Replies to enquiries. 1860’s style.

Starting the week right with a trip to beautiful Budleigh….

En route to a valuation the other day. Pretty standard main road traffic!

Thank you to everybody that has supported us as we launched this new venture. I have been bowled over by the support and encouragement from so many of you. Lloyd and I are finishing our last few reports of 2022, and I will be picking up emails over the Christmas period (hello@geeringsurveyors.com if you need it!) but will also be taking a little time to reflect, catch up and prepare for a busy year ahead. We hope that you all get the chance to do the same over the festive period, but if you have any property related questions do please get in touch.

Sunny but cold Exmouth this morning for an inspection in connection with a 90-year statutory lease extension premium calculation. #leasehold #lease #leaseextension #rics #redbook #valuation
