Property advice, clearly explained

Property rarely fits into a single box. A family home can also be a tax asset; a farm may involve tenancies, succession, planning and environmental opportunities; a charity disposal may require valuation, marketing and development advice at the same time.

Geering Chartered Surveyors provides independent valuation and property advice across Devon and Cornwall, working with private clients, farmers and landowners, businesses, charities, solicitors, accountants and other professional advisers.

Our work is grouped into six core areas. If your particular issue crosses more than one, that is often where we can add the most value.

Residential property advice

Independent valuations and advice for tax, probate, Help to Buy, Shared Ownership, matrimonial and other purposes, plus an independent view before buying or selling.

Agricultural and rural property advice

Farm and land valuation, landlord and tenant, succession planning, estate management, environmental schemes and natural capital.

Commercial property advice

Capital and rental valuations, SIPP property, lease advice, and mixed-use or unusual property that does not sit neatly in one category.

Property advice for charities and trustees

Charities Act disposals, valuation and sale strategy, with particular experience of churches, chapels and community buildings.

Planning and development advice

Strategic land, development valuation and viability, planning coordination, and rural conversion and diversification.

Expert Witness valuation

Independent valuation evidence for the Court, including Single Joint Expert appointments, financial remedy proceedings, diminution in value and retrospective valuations.
